Points, Payouts & Structures

How prize pools are paid, how you earn points, and how our tournament structures work.

Tournament Payout Structure

At Legends Poker:

  • 100% of player buy-ins, re-buys, and add-ons are returned to players.
  • League staff and operating expenses are funded independently and not from player stakes.
  • Any venue promotional tokens or vouchers have no cash value and are not required to participate.

Tournament Minimums

A tournament requires a minimum of 8 registered active players to proceed as a qualifying event and award finishing points. If fewer than 8 players are registered, the qualifying event will be cancelled, all registered active players will receive 24 participation points, and player payments will be refunded.

Players may still elect to play. Where this occurs, 100% of all buy-ins, re-buys and add-ons will be returned as prize money on a winner-takes-all basis. 24 participation points will be awarded, and the event will not be recognised as a qualifying tournament.

Standard Prize Pool Allocation

Unless otherwise advertised:

80%

of tournament buy-ins are paid out in the tournament prize pool.

20%

of tournament buy-ins are allocated to prize pool payouts for special events, championships, and league cash bonus prizes.

This ensures that 100% of player contributions are returned to players.

Standard Tournament Prize Pool Payouts

The following represents Legends Poker's standard payout schedule. Any variations will be clearly advertised before tournament registration opens. All payouts except first place are rounded down to the nearest $5.00 any excess is added to the first-place payout

Points System

This system rewards both consistent results and deep runs in large-field tournaments.

Players earn points at every Legends Poker tournament event based on their finishing position and the size of the field. Larger fields create bigger bonus-point opportunities, rewarding strong performances in larger events.

For all tournaments with an odd number of entrants, the Top 50% and Top 25% are determined by rounding down to the nearest whole player. For example, a 25-player tournament awards Top Half points to the top 12 finishers and Top Quarter points to the top 6 finishers.

  • Every player earns points for participating.
  • Players finishing in the Top 50% receive increased base points.
  • Players finishing in the Top 25% receive the maximum base points.
  • Top 10 finishers earn additional bonus points based on tournament size.

Base Points

Every player who participates receives points. Players receive the highest applicable base-point award only based on the player's finish position. All players receive 24 participation points. Players finishing in the top 50% of the field receive 96 base points and players finishing in the top 25% of the field receive 168 base points.

Top 10 Bonus Points

Players who finish in the Top 10 receive additional bonus points. These bonus points are added to the player's base points. Bonus points are calculated for each finish position with the following multipliers:

Tournament Structures

At Legends Poker, we don't just want to find the luckiest or most aggressive player on the night. We want to find the best poker player.

We believe poker is at its best when skill, strategy, patience, and decision-making have the greatest influence on the outcome.

Legends Poker carefully designs tournament structures to allow players to use strategy, position, and chip management effectively and encourage competitive poker, based on reading opponents and making well-timed decisions. Our aim is to create meaningful strategic play from the first hand through to the final table and to create an enjoyable experience for both newcomers and seasoned players.

Tournament structures are provided on each event page. Blind level times apply up until the final table. Final table blind levels will increase on an orbit + 1 basis. For any tournament for which a time limit is imposed, if play remains ongoing 15 minutes before the scheduled end time, the Tournament Director will announce that five hands remain. Should the tournament not conclude naturally by the set end time, finishing positions and prize payouts for the remaining players will be determined using the ICM chop method.
